Communication means feeling connected.

When we can see what's being said, we feel a part of what's happening.

We've always believed that the antidote to isolation is inclusion; that everyone should be empowered to partake in the stories that weave the fabric of our lives.

Lip reading, an important part of speech reading, is life-changing. That's why we made a safe, accessible online space to learn how at your own pace.  We're not just teaching, we're helping open doors to a more confident life.

See speech, feel connected.

Read Our Lips is an online course created and managed by the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association - Newfoundland and Labrador (CHHA-NL).

In 2018, the Association decided to create an opportunity to bring lip reading classes to EVERYONE, no matter where you live in the world.  This class is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about lip (speech) reading and wants to improve their skills in this area.  We are dedicated to supporting those with hearing loss, and their families, by improving quality of life through communication skills.

The CHHA-NL is a non-profit, charitable organization supporting people of all ages through education, awareness and communication programs.  The CHHA-NL is also committed to the prevention of hearing loss at home, work and play.

Trained staff members at the CHHA-NL have been teaching lip (speech) reading classes in-person at the Association since 1982.
